I found this survey on Fashion or Fiction, and it seemed interesting, so I gave it a try. And it is convenient. Copy and paste it from someone else and change the answers. Easy for a lazy person, like myself.
1. Favorite childhood book?
Tales of Martha B Rabbit or Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. Martha B Rabbit was so motherly and comforting and sensible, and Lilly was just the opposite. Dramatic, crazy, a diva, but still lovely.
2. What are you reading right now?
1984 and Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking
3. What books do you have on request at the library?
The Serpent's Shadow by Rick Riordan. A guilty pleasure.
4. Bad book habit?
Reading the same book (usually an easy read) to procrastinate reading a classic that I have borrowed. Also reading my mom's magazines instead of my books. For some reasons I really enjoy Prevention and Reader's Digest.
5. What do you currently have checked out at the library?
Emma, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Clockwork Orange, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, and 1984. Must. Read. Faster.
6. Do you have an e-reader?
MOST CERTAINLY NOT. I abhor them, loathe them. Reading is about the experience of seeing and smelling and reading the memories in the pages. The e-reader ruins the experience completely. Ugh. This e-reader debate is on that I am very passionate about.
7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once?
One or 2. Usually one is difficult and one is very easy. I try to read 1, but I get distracted, so I move on and come back (maybe, see bad book habit).
8. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?
I think I start paying attention more to books that I read b/c I want to write a review, but probably not.
9. Least favorite book you read this year (so far?)
Not really sure. I put it down if I do not like it. I guess from school, when I read The Pine Barrens, I will be bored to tears b/c it is apparently excruciating. Also, I had to read Salem Witch Judge: The Life and Repentance of Samuel Sewall. I thought it would be a psychological analysis, but it was just boring.
10. Favorite book you’ve read this year?
Life of Pi was incredibly original. Pride and Prejudice was of course lovely, and Lone Wolf was another masterpiece by Jodi Picoult.
11. How often do you read out of your comfort zone?
Well, classics are out of my comfort zone, but I have to read them.
12. What is your reading comfort zone?
Realistic fiction (Jodi Picoult), some fantasy (HP) and I guess any book that is engaging. I really do not know.
13. Can you read on the bus?
I do not go on a bus frequently, but I can read in the car. I can read when there is so much noise I can only think or go insane or when there is silence.
14. Favorite place to read?
The lofted chair in my room, couch, anywhere quiet. It changes. I can't read in the same place for a long time.
15. What is your policy on book lending?
Don't really care as long as I get it back. Since I usually borrow books from the library, I do not really lend books anyway.
16. Do you ever dog-ear books?
Yes. Quite frequently. For school, I dog-ear for interesting quotes because sticky notes do not stick and I need the quotes for essays, and I dog-ear instead of using bookmarks. I mean, I love then, but I can't find them when I need them.
17. Do you ever write in the margins of your books?
No. If I need to write, I take notes on a separate sheet of paper.
18. Not even with text books?
Well, I might occasionally stab my book with pencil when I am angry, but I do not write.
19. What is your favorite language to read in?
English? I can't read in other languages.
20. What makes you love a book?
The fact that it makes me think. Although, it cannot be so confusing that I want to tear my hair out. I mean, pixie cut. The hair never comes out (thank goodness).
21. What will inspire you to recommend a book?
If it is mind -blowingly unique, by J.K. Rowling, makes me cry (only 2 thus far), enlightens me, or is beautifully written.
22. Favorite genre?
The bildungsroman.
23. Genre you rarely read (but wish you did?)
Sci-Fi and non-fiction.
24. Favorite biography?
I need to read more of these. I am going to read Growing Up for school, and apparently it is amazing.
25. Have you ever read a self-help book?
I am working on one now, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, but I do not think it is true self-help. I guess not.
26. Favorite cookbook?
I make up my own based on ones I find online.
27. Most inspirational book you’ve read this year (fiction or non-fiction)?
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, Lone Wolf, Life of Pi (inspired me to write in an inspirational manner, does that make sense?).
28. Favorite reading snack?
Really anything. I like food and I like books. It just has to be easy to eat.
29. Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience.
Not very sure...I guess My Sister's Keeper was not as good as I expected it to be.
30. How often do you agree with critics about a book?
I do not really read criticisms, but depends which critics.
31. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews?
I only give bad reviews if I had to read the book for school.
32. If you could read in a foreign language, which language would you choose?
I am not sure. I think French would be interesting, and I should be able to read in it. I took it for four years. I think better Latin skills would help with Caesar and Virgil next year.
33. Most intimidating book you’ve ever read?
The Bluest Eye. I read it last year for outside reading. I loved it, but I did not get any help and it was my fist Toni Morrison, so it was a bit much.
34. Most intimidating book you’re too nervous to begin?
Russian literature in general. I would like to read Anna Karenina, but I am too scared to even borrow it.
35. Favorite Poet?
Robert Frost, so far. I love writing poetry, but I am not ready to read a lot of it. Frost's poetry is beautiful.
36. How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time?
Depends. School year= none. Summer= about 8.

All too many times.
38. Favorite fictional character?
Hermione Granger.
39. Favorite fictional villain?
Severus Snape.
40. Books you’re most likely to bring on vacation?
Magazines. It's hard to get into a book on vaca.
41. The longest you’ve gone without reading.
For fun, like a month. But otherwise there is usually something to read.
42. Name a book that you could/would not finish.
Jane Eyre. I will have to read it sometime, I know, but I tried twice and could not get to the interesting part. I mean, I have guessed what happens next, but next is yet to come.
43. What distracts you easily when you’re reading?
Sleep, food, Harry Potter, a magazine, a bug, sleep.
44. Favorite film adaptation of a novel?
Some of the Harry Potter's.
45. Most disappointing film adaptation?
The rest of the Harry Potter's. I like my details. And they add some stuff to "jazz it up" that ruins the movie. And My Sister's Keeper was pretty good as a book, but I could not finish the film.
46. The most money I’ve ever spent in the bookstore at one time?
I do not really buy books, but textbooks and prep books are very expensive.
47. How often do you skim a book before reading it?
Almost never. Why ruin the fun?

Time, a more interesting book, boredom.

By height?
50. Do you prefer to keep books or give them away once you’ve read them?
Well, I borrow them, so I do not have much of an option.
51. Are there any books you’ve been avoiding?
Too many to count.
52. Name a book that made you angry.
Well, I like being angry when I read if I am angry at a character. None thus far have made me angry at the author. Well, none off the top of my head. Actually Looking for Alaska. Why do teenagers like myself destroy themselves with drugs etc? Drugs bother me a lot.
53. A book you didn’t expect to like but did?
Quiet and Beloved. That was an unexpected favorite. Also, so many people I know hated The Scarlet Letter, but I loved it. And The Fault in Our Stars. That made me cry. One of 2, ever. And The Secret Life of Bees. And Pride and Prejudice initially.
54. A book that you expected to like but didn't?
Jane Eyre, My Sister's Keeper ( I liked it, but Jodi Picoult has written books that are so much better), and Looking for Alaska. My friend and my English teacher both loved it, but it bothered me.
55. Favorite guilt-free, pleasure reading?
Harry Potter, Jodi Picoult.
