I adapted this from A Year in the Vegetarian Kitchen by John Bishop. His recipe is flavored with Parmesan cheese. Mine is more Asian-inspired, with garlic and ginger and scallions. I am sure his is delicious, but mine is like the vegetarian version of chicken noodle soup: warm, comforting, and healing. If you have a cold creeping upon you, have this. It is so good. Just be careful, because kale takes a long time to cook. It will almost never overcook, so don't be afraid to really cook it. Also, I think the soup would be good with some minced red peppers as well, though it was already quite a lot for two people. I think it would be really good if you made this much soup for 4 people and served some peanutty (yes, that is a word, why are you underlining it in red?) noodles on the side. Also, if you can find miso paste, add some to the soup. It will give it an amazing flavor. Finally, you can use sesame oil instead of the classic olive oil to make the sesame flavor very apparent.

Welcome to another week of the I Love My Online Friends 'GFC' Hop. Last week we had 157 link ups. Thank you to everyone who joined in and hopped along with us. I love Blog Hops because they give you a chance to see blogs that you would never find otherwise. I especially love blog hops that emphasize the fact that fellow bloggers are supposed to be friends, not people you just follow to get reciprocal following (kind of like reciprocal altruism in biology?) RULES FOR THE HOP 1. Please follow your host and the fab five on Google Friend Connect (GFC). Tami @ The Things We Find Inside Camille @ Crazy Mama Asilia @ Reasons to Procrastinate Tricia @ Today with the Tennerys Jessica @ Dream Catcher Baby Liz @ The Blue Eyed Owl 2. Link up your homepage and start hopping around. Remember, this is a blog hop, you've gotta do some hopping in order for it to truly be worth your time. When you get a new follower it's always nice to return the favour. Visit their blogs, leave them a comment and/or return the follow. 3. You are not required to, but it would be great if you could tweet/like/pin/share this post and/or grab the button and share it on your blog. The more people that see this hop, the more blogs for us to visit and the more followers we gain.
Thanks and Happy Hopping!

First of all, I have a giveaway going on until Friday. Enter HERE!!! Jeana, who is helping me run this giveaway, is also offering anyone 20% off until Friday with the code Procrastinate20. Secondly, I am so sorry, but I will only really be able to do 2-3 posts a week. Junior year, is well, horrible. I will try my best to post 3 days a week. Well, anyway, Katie from Handmade by KP has offered to give all of my readers free shipping on any purchase from her Etsy store. You can enter the code FREESHIP at checkout. Here are some of the items in her store that I absolutely love. I myself am considering taking advantage of the free shipping to get a clutch for one of my friends' birthday! royal purple one and her yellow chevron one. These fun clutches would be perfect for a night out. They even have a handle, which is so perfect for absent minded people (like me!).
obnoxious cheerful orange). I think it would go well with my denim dress.

So, I did about three posts working with Jeana from Ruby Willow, and she is amazing enough to sponsor this giveaway. She also send me the "give peas a chance" one, which you can see me style here. I cannot sing enough adulations about that necklace. I received so many compliments. It is so quirky and adorable. You can win one of the three necklaces below.
This giveaway is listed at All Things Bloggy.

Ruby Willow. Tomorrow I will wear the obnoxious Asilia outfit to style the necklace! I didn't have school today, so I was a bit too lazy to wear something fabulous, but this outfit has subtle color blocking, and more importantly, comfort. Perfect with the bowl of Sweet Potato-Pumkin-Ginger soup I made. That was divine (recipe coming soon!). Ruby Willow, Shirt-J.Crew, Cords-J.Crew, Cardigan-Old Navy

Ruby Willow, an amazing Etsy shop I found. Isn't it adorable? As a vegetarian, I could not help choosing a necklace with a green pea pod as an ode to my lifestyle. I would have worn it with this outfit to complete the whimsical, cute look, but I wore this last week, so I will style it for you again tomorrow. Oh, and by the way, Jeana will soon be sponsoring my next giveaway. And I know you also want to wear your vegetables around your neck.
